Le staff de Newerth.com travaille dur pour vous offrir une nouvelle amelioration basée sur le mod SFE. Nous avions choisis le nom de code SFE2 mais nous avons décidé d'un nouveau nom et de l'acronyme XR. Partant de cela nous avons décidé de vous montrer un peu où nous en étions avec XR en réalisant une vidéo HD de courte durée:

Cette vidéo montre quelques modifications apportées au moteur SilverBack qui devrait permettre de mettre-à-jour l'aspect graphique de Savage en lui ajoutant de nouvelles fonctionnalitées vues dans des jeux plus récents.
Nous espérons réaliser la premiére version de XR sous peu,elle incluera beaucoup de corrections de bug et des additions mineures au jeu ainsi qu'un programme d'installation en un clic, un outil de mise à jour automatique (Plus de téléchargements de patchs X Y ou Z...), un outil de chat IRC fonctionnel dans le jeu, une section website qui enregistre les statistiques du joueur engendrant une competition dans la communauté. Plusieurs corrections de bugs, quelques petites nouveautés et optimisations ont été incluses du côté des serveurs pour réduire le lag et pour rendre la création et l'administration d'un serveur plus aisée. Nous incorporerons égalements plusieurs mods qui étaient déjà disponible pour Savage 1 dans XR avec le consentements de leur(s) créateur(s). Avec toutes ses nouveautés et ajouts, nous essayerons aussi de faire tourner la taille de l'installateur autour de 150 MB. La version actuelle du client XR pése 110 MB.
Une seconde release aménera les modifictions graphiques (vues dans la vidéo ) et des modeles 3D supplementaires. Toutefois, si vos performances sont atténuées par ces nouveautées, vous pourrez toujours les désactiver et ne garder que les modifications qui ne sont pas d'ordre graphique. XR va aussi mettre l'accent sur le fait que les ajouts ne doivent pas altérer la qualité du jeu ce qui signifie qu'il y aura certaines modifications visant à rééquilibrer le tout ainsi que des changements mineur qui seront fait sans le soutien total de la communauté ( Changements sur la mélée etc. ).
Il y a toujours une montagne de boulot à faire, alors nous demandons encore une fois votre aide et votre temps libre si vous vous y connaisez en modeling 3D ou en programmation C/C++.

We here at Newerth.com have been working hard to bring you a new enhancement of Savage 1 based on SFE. We code named the project SFE2 but now have decided on an new name and the acronym XR. With this we thought that it would be a nice idea if we showed you some of the progress we are making with XR and have created a short HD video.

The video displays some new enhancements that have been added to the Silverback engine that hopefully will bring Savage 1 up-to-date with graphics seen in newer game titles.
We hope to release the first version of XR shortly, that will include many bug fixes and minor additions to the game including a one click installer, automatic updater (no more downloading x y and z patch), functional in game IRC client, a website section that tracks player stats and a community run competitive league. Several bug fixes, small new features and optimisations have been implemented server side to reduce "lag" and make installing and managing servers easier. We will also be incorporating many mods already available for Savage 1 into XR with their creators consent. With these new addition we will also try and keep the installer around 150MB in size. The current XR client installer is an amazing 110MB in size for the client!
A second release will then see the addition of the new client side graphics (seen in the video) and additional game models. Don't be concerned about whether these new additions will slow down your client you will be able to turn them off as you see fit along with all new functionality added to the game. XR will also place emphasis on adding to not altering Savage 1 which means there will be very few controversial balance and game changes made without the full backing of the community (melee changes etc.) avoiding the backlash other Savage mods have had.
There is still a mountain of work that needs to be done, so again we are pleading for your spare time if you have skills in 3D modelling or C/C++.

| Oue j'en connais qui pourront plus jouer a Savage ^^ il sera trop puissant pour certain pc de joueur. Quand tu vois le nombre de personne qui lag avec SFE | |

| C'est vrai qu'il y en a qui joue a savage faute de pouvoir jouer à plus récents Ils pourront toujous désactiver tout ça mais bon, l'interet du patch devrait être limité en dehors de ça  ( excepté le retour d'un tracker et toutes le spetites fonctionnalités ) | |

| Alors là, je suis tout à fait d'accord, j'ai pas mal de copain qui veulent pas y joué pour raison ésthétique... grâce à ce genre de chose, on augmente la vie du jeu, c'est tout simplement génial | |

| Je tiens a préciser que dans un jeu le graphisme ne fait pas tout....
Il m'arrive de jouer a des jeux comme Tomb Raider 1, Pacman ou meme SuperMario 3.
Savage a un charme particulier et est le seul jeu "connus" a pouvoir nous montrer le FPS , le RPG et le STR en un click... | |
